Aww, aren’t we proud: Goghee To Go is graduating into the restaurant big-time. The Little Korean Barbecue Stand That Could will vacate its drive-up shack on Inwood Road and head to 635 & the Tollway, where it will serve its spicy-hot-and-sweet tacos in a real-life restaurant space with, like, tables and chairs and plates. Husband-and-wife owners Terry and Janice Song will take over the space that was once La Paloma Taco and before that, Dunn Bros Coffee. Janice says that some people passed them by because they thought that a hut was “divey,” not to mention their food was getting unfairly compared to $1 street tacos. “People naturally compared us to those taco shacks — because we were a taco shack,” she says. Tongue cluck. They’ll take a month off to renovate the new space, and return with an expanded menu and a more commanding all-caps name: GOGHEE.
